With the show at Slack’s Bar, 562 Church St., Toronto, ON, tonight at 9pm being the first of 3 this week in and around the GTA we’re continuing down the long and winding road. Tonight’s show is my first stop into Slack’s and I remind my male friends that a ‘Ladies 1st’ policy at the door requires that any man wanting to see the show arrive on the arm of a lady in order to gain entrance.
How’s that for local flavor?
Friday night will find me on stage at 7pm at Reba’s Cafe & Gallery, 3289 Dundas St. W., Toronto, ON., where we’ll be saying goodbye to Arlene, Paul & Reba for the last time as they are unfortunately slated to close on September 2nd. They’re going to be missed in the neighborhood and across the country and here’s hoping that you’ll join me as I bid a fond farewell to some of the finest people I’ve met in the music business.
Gone but not ever close to forgotten, I’ll always be grateful to have been able to record ‘Live at Reba’s Cafe’ there in 2011!
I’ll be ending the week with a show on Saturday night at 7pm in the Silver Spoon Cafe, 217 King St. W., Kitchener, ON, a new venue for me and also a new roots music venue in the GTA that I’m excited to be invited to support! Reknown for a cosy atmosphere and a killer kitchen, here’s hoping my Kitchener friends will join us for the early show at this highly rated new bistro.
Sad to see a favorite stop close but happy to support a new place and wishing them nothing but the best!
To everybody who’s made it out to all of the shows at each of the stops so far I send my sincerest thanks, you’ve been great and I couldn’t be doing this without you! Thanks for making it possible for me to continue to defy the odds, I’m proud to earn your support and grateful to be your friend, and I hope to be out here doing this with you for the rest of my life.
No offense to the folks chasing the big time, but there ain’t no life like the underground life!
