An evening at Fionn MacCool’s

'A Tribute to Catfish John' album cover

A late cancel by a group of locals yesterday afternoon dragged me off of the sofa and into my boots for the hour-long drive into Edmonton and dinner at brand-spanking-new south side gastro-pub Fionn MacCool’s.  As occasional partner-in-crime and reknown guitar wizard Mike Beley was also enjoying some down time between gigs I was able to drag him away from hearth-and-home to join me for 3 sets on stage at what I’m saying is going to become one of Edmontons’ favorite new live music venues.

Nice folks, great food and good music – what more could you ask for?!

So here’s a thank-you-very-much going out to Ayla, Carrie, Glenn and the gang at Fionn MacCool’s, 4485 Gateway Boulevard, Edmonton, AB, for being such great hosts, we wish you all the best with the new place and look forward to seeing you someplace down the road!

In other developments, commercial radio across Canada has declared that ‘A Tribute to Catfish John’ my latest studio recording ‘Does not sound enough like everything else to merit addition to our playlist.’  In addition, the live-off-of-the-floor studio production featuring zero `comp-ed` tracks has been declared to sound ‘too live’ for commercial radio, and for this we say thank-you-very-much for appreciating our efforts and confirming our direction!

As always thank you very much for checking the calendar here for updates and see you at the show.
